She had so much historical information to share with us and was very enthusiastic about it. If you are a History Buff and want to know about Civitavecchia's history, the five tribes, development of the Port, Roman influences and things of that nature, it's great. However if you think it's about a walking tour that includes just restaurants, bistros, cafes, and other eating/dining experiences this is not it. The tour included a stop for gelato and at the end, a final stop at "MyLord" restaurant which includes a wonderful, boxed charcuterie. Food Tasty Walking Tour - no, History - yes.read less

Federico was a wonderful teacher and host who accommodated our dietary needs (that I had forgotten to tell him about before hand) without any fuss. We made some delicious dishes including an authentic bolognaise sauce, gnocchi, grilled eggplant, tomato and mozzarella and tiramisu in his wonderful cool kitchen. His lovely partner, Tracy made us feel very welcome too. Tracy makes bags and bracelets and let us choose one each. I choose a lovely bright pink bag to use for the beach - the colour really pops! And is a great reminder of the time we spent with them. If we’re ever in Civitavecchia again we’ll definitely book another class! Thank you Federico and Tracy!read less

Roberta...read moreSince I have been to Rome before, I wanted to try something local and cultural. I was not disappointed! Roberta was friendly, personable and knowledgeable. She was fun to spend the morning with, sharing stories and the history of Civitavecchia with such pride and excitement. Our group was small, only three of us, so we got to talk more about our experiences. Enjoying a morning cafe and pastry and ending with a charcuterie plate. I think we had a more personalized tour, like walking with friends. Thanks for a wonderful experience.read less

We then went on to a little restuarant where Owner/Chef Patrice walked us through a hands on, multi-course lunch preparation, making everything from scratch. Mass served as our interpreter and offered insights into Patrice (who does not speak English) and her business.read less

I was kept in contact concerning the Tour logistics & details the entire time-which we truly appreciate when visiting places we are unfamiliar with. Sometimes, people kind of take that for granted. Now the food—excellent Gelato-generous amounts & the presentation & variety of food at the next stop-MyLord was Tremendous -wine was So Good! We were so impressed with restaurant-MyLord going back again today for lunch on our own. Paola was so incredibly knowledgeable, kind, patient, informative, fun, and inviting. She and Salvatore made us feel welcome from the first moment we met them outside the port. We had a lovely time wandering through the town's historic streets, seeing ancient ruins, and learning about the city's rich history. We stopped at several local places throughout the tour to have coffee, pastries, authentic pizza, cheese, meats, and wine! Every single thing we had was delicious and the places were all local spots we never would have found on our own. By the end of the tour, it felt like we were family with Paola & Salvatore. In fact, we will definitely contact them for additional tours next time we are in Italy, as they work in several cities throughout the country. This tour was a 10/10!read less

Roberta met us at the port bus stop and provided a walking tour of the historic area just outside the port and the city center. She is very knowledgeable with excellent English. We accompanied her to the local city market where she picked up items for our lunch. We proceeded to Patrizia’s restaurant where we were introduced to Patrizia, given aprons, and started helping Patrizia make our lunch. Roberta stayed to translate. Everyone was so nice and it was fun to make pasta and chop apples. We enjoyed eating our lunch of freshly made bread, pasta, veal scalopini, wine and apple cake. This was a delightful experience.read less

It was the perfect way to see Civitavecchia, learn its history, taste some food and enjoy a lovely day in Italy. We walked through the various sections of the city, saw the important places and enjoyed our guide's pictures of how things looked in the past.. The last tasting at My Lord was truly special.
