A fascinating, very tasty walking tour!
We had an excellent walking tour with Alessa recently. She was extremely informative and interesting and we learned so much about Civitavecchia, it’s history and what it is like today. At the 2 stops we had the most delicious food, far more than we expected. I would really recommend this as a great alternative to travelling into Rome for cruise passengers, particularly if like us you have done this previously.

Great overview of the city
We arrived in Italy in the morning and had booked this tour for late afternoon. It was the perfect way to see Civitavecchia, learn its history, taste some food and enjoy a lovely day in Italy. We walked through the various sections of the city, saw the important places and enjoyed our guide’s pictures of how things looked in the past.. The last tasting at My Lord was truly special. We highly recommend the tour.

Alexia was charming. knowledgeable, and a joy to tour Civitavecchia with. We learned a lot about the Port of Rome and, being a native, Alexia had “inside information” we would not have received any other way.

We had a crew of eight people. 4 adults, one teenage, 8 year old and twin 3 year olds. Our guide Roberta was fantastic with entertained everyone. Such a great personality! We were recently in Rome and did not want to spend our limited time in the port on a bus. So this tour was just the ticket! Definitely recommend.

Great food great knowledge
We had a wonderful and educational tour of the port area and ancient city. Our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Probably the best part was the final tasting at MyLord. What a fantastic treat. I do t want to give away the surprise but I will say that it was truly a treasure! If you you have a few hours, make this your choice for something to eat and learn some history too!’

We opted to stay in Civitavecchia instead of visiting Rome (Good Friday crazy with crowds) on this cruise ship stop. Our tour guide, Louisiana, was great! The history of Civitavecchia, especially the war-time history, is fascinating and shouldn’t be forgotten. It’s a lovely and walkable city. We learned a lot and we really enjoyed the treats and food, which was delicious and plentiful.

If you’re looking for something a bit different – this is it!

Luisiana was a wonderful guide! The tour was a great way to spend the morning before boarding our cruise ship. We learned some interesting history about Civitavecchia, enjoyed some delicious pastries and cappuccino, and ended with some wine and a plate of delicious meats and cheeses. Definitely recommend this tour if you only have a short time to spend in Civitavecchia.

We had a great time with Roberta, our tour guide, in Civitavecchia. The history of the port city was fascinating and the food was truly tasty. Our last official stop was MyLord restaurant where we had a relaxing lunch with excellent wine.
An added treat, not on the itinerary, was a visit to Santa Maria Dell’ Orazione, the oldest Catholic Church in Civitavecchia.
The meeting point, “Largo della Pace” can be crowded depending on the number of cruise ships that are in port. But we were able to meet up without any issue. If you are coming into port on a ship, allow enough time to catch the shuttle bus and get over to the info center.
